She became Muslim after having an illegitimate pregnancy aborted; will Allah forgive her and will she meet her child in Paradise?

A sister embraced islam after being raised as an athiest. at age 17 during her state of jahiliyya, she had an abortion and terminated her pregnancy, due to abuse and pressure on the part of her former partner. The termination took place approx 49weeks into pregnancy.
InshaaAllah, the sister has been forgiven by Allah SWT for this because she was not aware of Islam and had not been guided at this time.
The sister deeply regrets and feels saddened by this. She would like to know, from an islamic perspective what happened to that foetus, if it was considered a life at that stage or not, and on yeomal qiyyamah will there be any consequence for that action, any scenario which will occur. and if the sister is granted jannah, and we ask Allah to grant us all this honour, will she ever have a chance to have this child or will this be something which has been erased by Allah in this life and in the hereafter?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

Zina (fornication or adultery) is forbidden and is a crime according to all divinely revealed laws. It is abhorrent and is rejected by anyone with sound reasoning, even if he is not Muslim. Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, has criticised the one who does it in many verses and in many Prophetic hadeeths, and He has warned the one who does it of severe punishment in this world and in the Hereafter. Will the members of a family all be together in Paradise?

Will the Muslim meet or be with those of his children who died or whom he lost on the Day of Resurrection? And how will that meeting be? Will they be meet as a family as they were in this world.

Praise be to Allaah.

Paradise is the abode of honour that Allah, may He be exalted, has prepared for His believing slaves. In it are delight and happiness such as have never entered the mind of man and no one has ever imagined. Whoever enters it will find true, eternal happiness and will have attained a great victory. Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do”

[as-Sajdah 32:17].

Part of the happiness that Allah has guaranteed to His believing slaves is that He will reunite the family, parents and children, after they all enter Paradise by the mercy of Allah and the intercession of Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). This promise is mentioned in the holy Book of Allah, in the verses that will be recited until the Day of Resurrection, in which Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything”

[at-Toor 52:21]. Continue reading

He got to know a girl but she married someone else reluctantly; can he be her husband in Paradise?

I used to know a girl and I tried to marry her, to no avail. Her family arranged her marriage to someone else although she was reluctant. If we enter Paradise, by Allah’s leave, will Allah cause her to be married to her husband whom she was reluctant to marry or the man who dreamt of being her husband?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

It should be noted that it is not permissible for a Muslim to talk or correspond with a woman who is not his mahram, so it is definitely not permissible for him to do any more than that, such as meeting her and being alone with her. … This is the issue of communication between the sexes, which is the cause of great fitnah (temptation) and evil and following the footsteps of the Shaytaan until people fall into serious trouble and major sin, Allah forbid.  Continue reading

Why is liver of fish the first food of the people of Paradise?

Why is liver of fish considered as the first food in heaven? it is said to purify our stomach in heaven this is done, is this true?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

It is proven in the saheeh Sunnah that the first food offered to welcome the people of Paradise when they enter it will be “the caudate lobe of whale liver”. That is mentioned in the hadeeth of Thawbaan, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), according to which one of the Jewish rabbis came to ask the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) about some matters to test him. In the hadeeth it says:

The Jewish man said: What will be presented to them first when they enter Paradise?

He said: “Caudate lobe of whale liver.”

He said: What food will be given to them after that?

He said: “The bull of Paradise, which used to graze along its edges, will be slaughtered for them.”

He said: What will their drink be?

He said: “From a spring there that is called Salsabeel.” …

Narrated by Muslim, 315

Imam an-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The words “What will be presented to them” refer to that with which a man is welcomed. Ibraaheem al-Halabi said: It is usually good quality fruits. Continue reading

Is it true that the one who commits fornication with a virgin will never smell the fragrance of Paradise?

I am a young man and I got to know a girl, and the matter went so far that we committed an immoral action; the girl was a virgin before I had intercourse with her.
My question is:
Is it true that the young man who takes the virginity of any girl will not smell the fragrance of Paradise? Because this is what I have heard from all my friends. Is there any evidence in the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of His Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) for the soundness of these words?
I hope that you will answer the question.

Praise be to Allaah.

Undoubtedly what you did of committing fornication is a grave and major sin; rather it is one of the worst of sins after shirk and murder.

It is sufficient in affirming the gravity of fornication to note that Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, threatens the fornicators with a doubled punishment and eternity in the Fire of Hell, humiliated and disgraced, because of the gravity of their crime and the abhorrence of their actions, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And those who invoke not any other ilaah (god) along with Allaah, nor kill such person as Allaah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse __ and whoever does this shall receive the punishment.

69. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;

70. Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds”

[al-Furqaan 25:68-70].

So zina (fornication, adultery) is mentioned alongside shirk and murder, and the recompense for that is eternity in Hell with a doubled torment and disgrace, if the individual who deserves that has not escaped it by means of repenting, believing and doing righteous deeds. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning)

“And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a Faahishah (i.e. anything that transgresses its limits: a great sin), and an evil way”

[al-Isra’ 17:22].

So Allah tells us that it is evil in and of itself, and it is an action that is so abhorrent that it is acknowledged as such by all people of reason.  End quote from al-Jawaab al-Kaafi, p. 105

Zina (fornication/adultery) leads to eternity in Hell; what is meant by eternity here is a lengthy stay, the length of which no one knows except Allah.  Continue reading

He proposed marriage to a girl and she prayed istikhaarah and saw them both and their families in Paradise

My ex fiance did an istakhara last year in ramadan, and in her dream she saw me in jannah with her and her familly, sand we have broken the engagement for about 2 years, and yeah we both want to be married with each other can you please tell me what to do about getting with her again and also tell me details about her istakhara which she did about us and saw me with her in jannah please.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

If this girl is religiously committed and of good character, then there is no reason why you should not propose to her again, then complete the marriage contract with her, so long as both of you want to get married. We ask Allaah to make good easy for you wherever it is, and to make it a happy and blessed marriage.

Secondly:

It is prescribed for the one who wants to get married to pray istikhaarah, asking Allaah for guidance, and to mention by name the girl whom he wants to marry. The girl should also do likewise. If the matter then goes ahead smoothly with no problems, that is a sign that it is good to go ahead and complete the marriage contract, but if he encounters any obstacles that is a sign that Allaah is diverting him from going ahead.

Istikhaarah does not depend on dreams as some people think. We have discussed istikhaarah and how it is to be done, and commented on the hadeeth about it, in the answer to question no. 11981 and 5882.

We do not know how to interpret dreams.

And Allaah knows best. Continue reading

A Christian is asking what is written on the gate of Paradise?

What is written on the gates of paradise?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

Paradise does not have only one gate, rather it has many gates. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And those who kept their duty to their Lord (Al-Muttaqoon – the pious) will be led to Paradise in groups till when they reach it, and its gates will be opened (before their arrival for their reception) and its keepers will say: Salaamun ‘Alaykum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein”

[al-Zumar 39:73]

There is also evidence narrated in the Sunnah which points to the number of these gates. For example, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “In Paradise there are eight gates, among which is a gate called al-Rayyaan, through which no one will enter except those who fast.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3257; Muslim, 1125. This hadeeth indicates that the number of gates is eight. Continue reading

How will those who entered Hell then were brought forth from it enjoy Paradise?

The people who enter Jahanam and stay there for some time and then are removed and entered in Jannah. How will they enjoy Jannah being that they may remember their experience in Jahanaam (Post Traumatic Stress).

Praise be to Allaah.

Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah believe that some of the Muslims will enter Paradise without being brought to account or being punished, and some of them will enter Paradise after being brought to account, and some will enter Paradise after being punished in Hell as Allaah wills, then He will bring them forth from it.

The fact that these people are brought forth from Hell then admitted to Paradise will not cause them any sorrow or distress in Paradise, because Paradise is the abode of delight, and they will have whatever the other people of Paradise will have, as mentioned in the Qur’aan and Sunnah.

There is nothing in the evidence to suggest that these people will feel any kind of regret after entering Paradise due to the punishment that they experienced in Hell.

But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has told us about how these people will be after they are brought forth from Hell. That includes the following:

1 – They will be thrown into the River of Life, and will grow anew.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of Hell enter Hell, Allaah will say: ‘Whoever had a mustard-seed’s weight of faith in his heart, bring him out.’ So they will bring him out, and they will come out like burned skeletons, and they will turn into charcoal. They will be thrown into the River of Life, then they will grow like seeds growing in the silt left by a flood.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do you not see how they emerge yellow and curved?”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari (6192) and Muslim (184).

2 – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stated that they will change after they are brought forth from the Fire.

It was narrated from Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said of the Jahannamiyyoon (those who had been in Hell) that they “would be brought forth from the Fire after having been in it. They will come out as if they are branches of sesame. Then they will go into one of the rivers of Paradise, where they will wash themselves, then they will emerge like sheets of paper.”

Narrated by Muslim (191).

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The word sesame refers to the well-known sesame from which sesame oil is extracted. Imam Abu’l-Sa’aadaat al-Mubaarak ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Kareem al-Jazari, who is known as Ibn al-Atheer (may Allaah have mercy on him), said: What it means – and Allaah knows best – is that if the branches of sesame are gathered and left in the sun so that their seeds may be collected, they turn thin and black as if they have been burned, so these people are likened to them.

“then they will emerge like sheets of paper” They are likened to sheets of paper because they will be so white after they wash themselves and all the blackness that was on them is removed.

Sharh Muslim (3/52).

According to a report narrated by al-Bukhaari (6190):

It was narrated from Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “They will emerge from the Fire through intercession as if they are small cucumbers.” Continue reading

Who are the ten people who were given the glad tidings of Paradise?

Who were the ten people the prophet (PBUH)told they would go to Paradise ?

Praise be to Allaah.

The ten people who were given the glad tidings of Paradise were the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who are mentioned in the hadeeth narrated by ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf, who said:

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Abu Bakr will be in Paradise, ‘Umar will be in Paradise, ‘Uthmaan will be in Paradise, ‘Ali will be in Paradise, Talhah will be in Paradise, al-Zubayr will be in Paradise, ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf will be in Paradise, Sa’d will be in Paradise, Sa’eed will be in Paradise, and Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarraah will be in Paradise.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3680). Sa’d is Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqaas, and Sa’eed is Sa’eed ibn Zayd. There are also a number of other Sahaabah who were given the glad tidings of Paradise, such as Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid, ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Salaam, ‘Ukaashah ibn Muhsan and others, but the ten mentioned above are called the ten who were given the glad tidings of Paradise because their glad tidings came in one hadeeth. And Allaah knows best. Continue reading
